MYP Math Teacher

EGA's MYP Math Teacher is responsible for fostering mathematical inquiry, conceptual understanding, and critical thinking skills in students through the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) framework. The teacher promotes problem-solving, logical reasoning, and real-world math applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Curriculum Implementation: Teach MYP Mathematics, covering number systems, algebra, geometry, probability, and statistics.
• Inquiry-Based Learning: Develop lessons that encourage investigative problem-solving and mathematical reasoning.
• Real-World Applications: Use projects and case studies to connect math concepts to real-life situations.
• Assessment & Feedback: Implement MYP criterion-based assessments and provide constructive feedback to support student growth.
• Technology Integration: Utilize digital tools, graphing software, and interactive platforms for engaging mathematical exploration.
• Interdisciplinary Learning: Collaborate with other subjects to enhance students' understanding of mathematics in different contexts.
• Differentiation & Support: Adapt teaching strategies to meet diverse learning needs, including advanced and struggling students.
• Safeguarding & Well-being: Ensure a safe, inclusive, and respectful learning environment in compliance with school policies.

Requirements

• Minimum Education: Bachelor
• Teaching Experience: 2+ years
• Licenses & Certifications: Teaching Credential/License
• Additional School Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field. Teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, B.Ed., or equivalent). IB MYP teaching experience preferred. Strong understanding of MYP assessment criteria and inquiry-based learning. Excellent classroom management, collaboration, and analytical skills.
