Electrical Commissioning Engineer

- Lead the testing and commissioning of electrical systems and equipment.
- Perform and supervise insulation resistance, continuity, functional, protection relay, and operational tests.
- Troubleshoot electrical faults and recommend corrective actions.
- Review electrical drawings, single-line diagrams, schematics, method statements, and commissioning procedures.
- Supervise and guide electrical technicians during testing and commissioning activities.
- Coordinate energization, isolation, shutdown, and start-up activities.
- Ensure testing instruments are calibrated and suitable for use.
- Prepare test reports, commissioning records, punch lists, and system handover documentation.
- Coordinate with construction, engineering, client, vendor, and operations teams.
- Ensure compliance with project HSE requirements, permit-to-work procedures, and electrical safety standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering.
- Minimum 8 years of relevant electrical experience, including significant commissioning experience.
- Strong experience in industrial, power, oil and gas, petrochemical, or infrastructure projects.
- Sound knowledge of transformers, switchgear, MCCs, motors, generators, UPS systems, cables, protection systems, and control panels.
- Strong electrical troubleshooting and fault-finding skills.
- Experience leading and supervising teams of electrical technicians.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and technical documents.
- Familiarity with electrical testing equipment and commissioning documentation.
- Strong knowledge of LOTO, electrical isolation, permit-to-work, and HSE procedures.
