Overview

A distinguished international family based in Doha is seeking an experienced, engaging and highly qualified full-time Tutor with extensive knowledge of the American curriculum to provide comprehensive academic support to their son, who is entering 10th Grade.

The ideal candidate will be confident teaching across a broad range of subjects, including Mathematics, Science, Language Arts and other core academic disciplines, while preparing the student to achieve the strongest possible academic results and future SAT success.

The family is seeking an educator who can inspire confidence, develop effective study habits and encourage independent learning. They value a tutor who can simplify complex concepts and deliver focused, productive lessons that maximise progress without relying on lengthy study sessions.

10th Grade Boy

• Following the American curriculum
• Requires comprehensive academic support across core subjects
• Preparing for future SAT examinations
• Would benefit from developing stronger study habits, confidence and independent learning skills
• Requires engaging, structured tuition delivered in an encouraging and positive manner

The successful candidate may occasionally be asked to provide academic support to the family's other children; however, they already have their own tutor and this would only be on an ad hoc basis.

Role & Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality tuition across core American curriculum subjects
• Support ongoing academic development and future SAT preparation
• Create engaging and effective lesson plans tailored to the student's needs
• Identify academic strengths and areas requiring additional support
• Monitor progress and adapt teaching strategies accordingly
• Build confidence through positive reinforcement and achievable goals
• Encourage independent study skills and accountability
• Liaise with the family regarding progress and future academic planning
• Occasionally assist the family's other children with academic support when required

Tutor Profile & Requirements

The successful candidate will possess:

• Extensive experience teaching or tutoring within the American curriculum
• Strong knowledge across multiple academic subjects, including Mathematics, Science and Language Arts
• Experience preparing students for SAT examinations
• A proven track record of improving academic performance
• The ability to explain complex concepts in a clear and engaging manner
• An enthusiastic, positive and motivational teaching style
• Excellent organisational and communication skills
• The ability to build strong rapport with teenagers
• Professionalism, discretion and flexibility within a private household environment
