Job Title

Piping & Layout Engineer

Location

Offshore Qatar

Mission

• Perform technical tasks assigned by the Piping and Layout Lead, related with design, verification or study activities
• Interface with other Project Specialists, Designers and Draftsman
• Co‑ordinate technical activities performed inside or outside Saipem

Tasks

Execute the activities within own area of responsibility, ensuring compliance with QA/QC and HSE requirements. Tasks include:

• A - Development Technology know how and Commercial support
• B - Feasibility
• C - Bidding phase / Commercial proposal development

• Bill of material
• Plot plan layout proposal
• Support lead to define man hour and cost estimate

D - Project Execution

• Ensure the Piping and Layout engineering support to different projects
• Ensure the achievement of assigned goals and the fulfilment of project quality requirements and contractual obligations
• Analyse technical documents (e.g. specifications, calculation notes, drawings) to assess the scope of the studies required and the potential risks
• Seek solutions which can bring overall savings to the project
• Estimate quantities or validate estimation done by other specialist of the team
• Check all produced documents (internal or subcontracted) like design reports, technical specifications, drawings under responsibility
• Write the Piping and Layout methodologies / Design Premises comprehensive of all necessary data, general and specific design guidelines
• Analyse project technical documents to validate consistency between the budget, resources and means allocated for the work completion and the targets to be met
• Organise the work of the team under responsibility
• Define and follow‑up the planning of resources mobilisation
• Monitor and report actual progress including 3D / check for Discipline activities, including control of men‑hours and delivered documents
• Control the input data for team activities and check/review all documents issued by the team
• Attend to internal review activities and inter‑discipline check meetings
• Provide technical support to Project group
• Provide technical support to Procurement, Subcontracting and Construction activities included in the scope of work
• Supervise the writing of specifications and requisitions as well as technical bid evaluations
• Inform on a permanent basis the Project Piping and Layout leader of any foreseen technical or financial or delay risk
• Feed the Piping and Layout Department improvement system by reverting the lessons learned during the project

E - Construction and start up

• Participate to test circuit verification
• Assist, when necessary, engineering adjustment on site

What are we looking for?

Education: Master’s Degree / Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering

Experience: Field Engineering Experience, to support Fabrication and Commissioning activities.

Languages: English Language skills required (and any other specified by Project)

What else should you know? Start date is as soon as possible. Position will be operated offshore on a vessel.
