Maintenance Technician - Electrical & Instrument M/F

Contract: Fixed-term contract

Hours: Full time

Location: Doha, Qatar

Job Purpose

To optimize the reliability and availability of equipment within the area of responsibility through completing maintenance activities in accordance with NOC approved operation procedures, guidelines, legislative requirements and industry best practice.

Responsibilities

• Identify opportunities and champion initiatives that enable maximum production and injection output within the parameters of environmental compliance and process safety.
• Provide the Team Lead with regular reports with analysis and comment on performance and results. Be held accountable for the area of responsibility.
• Establish and maintain effective relationships with external parties, functional teams and corporate groups as required to meet NOC strategic business and operational objectives.
• Contribute to improvements, development and implementation of department activities, processes and procedures.
• Complete safe and efficient replacement and repair activities in case of failure or malfunction ensuring quick restoration; troubleshoot malfunctions and take corrective actions as necessary.
• Optimize production and uptime when executing maintenance activities which require shutdown/isolation or equipment.
• Conduct diagnostic tests and report repetitive equipment failures.
• Prepare adequate documentation and reporting for offshore management consideration regarding wrong design, poor workmanship, non-compliance to NOC standards; take appropriate action within level of authority.
• Contribute to identifying improvements to planned maintenance routines.

Qualifications

• Minimum higher secondary school education.
• Three‑year technical diploma (HNC, HND, or equivalent) in electrical or instrumentation.
• Minimum 10 years of experience, including at least 5 years offshore working on-field equipment in diversified oil & gas processing or petrochemical plants.
• Equal expertise in electrical and instrumentation disciplines.
• Previous experience as an Isolation Authority and Area Authority.
• Ability to read and interpret P&ID diagrams.
• Strong knowledge of electrical safety and instrumentation standards; familiar with isolation procedures and offshore safety protocols.
• Fit to work (required authorisation).
