Overview of the role
We are looking for a skilled and dependable Technician to carry out inspection, diagnosis, maintenance, and repair of commercial trucks and buses. The role is responsible for completing mechanical and electrical repairs efficiently, following manufacturer standards, workshop procedures, and health and safety requirements.
The successful candidate will have hands-on commercial vehicle experience, strong fault-finding capabilities, and a commitment to completing repairs correctly the first time while supporting high levels of vehicle reliability and customer satisfaction.

What you will do
•    Perform scheduled servicing, preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs on commercial trucks and buses.
•    Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and electronic faults using appropriate diagnostic tools and equipment.
•    Carry out repairs to engines, transmissions, braking systems, steering, suspension, electrical systems, and other vehicle components.
•    Read and interpret wiring diagrams, technical manuals, repair instructions, and manufacturer specifications.
•    Identify required parts and provide accurate information to support repair estimates and job completion.
•    Conduct road tests and functional checks, where authorized, to verify that repairs have been completed successfully.
•    Record diagnostic findings, work performed, parts used, and additional repair requirements accurately on the job card.
•    Ensure all assigned work is completed within the agreed time and quality standards.
•    Maintain tools, equipment, and the work area in a safe, clean, and serviceable condition.
•    Follow workshop procedures and all applicable health, safety, quality, and environmental requirements.
•    Report additional faults, recurring technical concerns, and potential safety issues to the Workshop Supervisor.
•    Participate in technical training and continuously develop knowledge of new commercial vehicle systems and technologies.

Required skills to be successful
•    ITI, diploma, or technical qualification in Automotive Engineering, Diesel Mechanics, Mechanical Engineering, Auto Electrical, or a related discipline.
•    Relevant hands-on experience in the servicing and repair of commercial trucks, buses, or other heavy vehicles.
•    Knowledge of modern vehicle electronics and CAN bus systems is an advantage.
•    A valid driving license, where required for the position, is preferred.

About the team
You will be part of the Commercial Vehicles Aftersales team, working closely with Workshop Supervisors, Service Advisors, Parts colleagues, and other Technicians. The team is committed to safe workshop operations, high-quality repairs, continuous technical development, and delivering dependable service to commercial vehicle customers.

What equips you for the role
•    Experience working within an authorized dealership, commercial vehicle workshop, fleet operation, or OEM environment is preferred.
•    Practical experience using manufacturer or multi-brand diagnostic systems.
•    Manufacturer or product-specific technical training is an advantage.
•    Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality and safety.
•    Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with the workshop team.
•    Good time management and ability to complete assigned work within agreed timelines.
•    Basic computer skills for accessing technical information and updating repair records.
•    Good communication skills in English.
