Lead Corrosion Control Specialist

Responsible for day‑to‑day operation of vehicle and equipment preservation. Organizes daily routine activities of a team and ensures safe, correct procedures, quality work, and compliance with the Performance Work Statement (PWS) and the Amentum ISO 9001 Quality Management System (QMS).

Responsibilities

• Supervise and organize the routine activities of a team of workers directly under your control.
• Ensure correct trade practices and health & safety procedures are performed.
• Perform quality control inspections, final examinations, and guarantee end items meet required standards.
• Prepare vehicles for long‑term storage using materials and equipment identified in USCENTAFI 24-302 or equivalent.
• Maintain supplies and material stocks; report shortages to the Material Control Specialist.
• Prepare and complete documentation including work orders, quality control self‑inspection checklists, USAF/Amentum forms, and update maintenance records.
• Prepare vehicles for final examination by the quality control inspector or QAE.
• Service and repair tools and equipment used in preservation.
• Attend regular safety briefings and on‑the‑job training as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned; work in a maintenance shop or warehouse and may work outdoors for extended periods.

Qualifications

• Excellent organizational skills.
• Intermediate proficiency in English (reading, writing, speaking).
• Comprehensive knowledge of a wide range of refinishing schemes and techniques.
• Depth of knowledge of associated health and hazard risks and precautions.
• Valid home‑country driver’s license; ability to obtain a host‑nation driver’s license.
• Experience operating material handling equipment.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Qualification in painting, finishing, and preservation of vehicles.
• Minimum 3years of experience in corrosion control and vehicle preservation techniques.
• Physical capability to lift/push/pull a minimum of 50lbs and handle equipment.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
• Willingness to wear proper personal protective equipment (PPE) according to procedures.
• Mandatory attendance of regular safety briefings and training.
