Overview of the Role

• Delivering a safe and reliable passenger service with a specific focus on Reliability improvement, Asset performance, Systems Assurance, RAM and asset management for all metro & LRT Rail systems
• Reviewing the D&B documentation and any project related documentation for any new project for all systems of the Doha metro falling under his/her scope
• Validating, reviewing and implementing the System assurance processes, procedures, manuals and plans for all relevant systems and equipment, for both in-house or outsourced maintenance
• Providing assistance for the ISO 55000 Certification

Key Accountabilities

• Technical lead of a project Systems Assurance teams covering RAM, EMC, FLS, Human Factors, Security.
• Lead technical discussions/ presentations with other engineering parties, Clients, ISA or other certification bodies.
• Drafting, editing and revising all engineering documents associated with the System Assurance Process
• Creating robust processes and providing expert guidance on the System Assurance Process
• Applying and updating systems engineering and systems assurance management plans in accordance with the project, regulations and standards requirements
• Reviewing and assuring the correctness of modelling system architectures Reliability, availability, maintainability (RAM) analysis
• Responsible for TANC (Temporary Acceptance of Non-Compliance) Process
• Responding to all systems – Maintenance related Safety notices
• Coordinate / ensure the implementation of Systems reliability requirements during operational phases.
• Managing the technical requirements with Requirements software and other tools
• Facilitating of hazard workshops, risk assessments, related test cases and the identification of risk controls for systems perspective
• Carrying out internal and external engineering audits
• Responding to Operational Performance reports both monthly/annually
• Liaise with Contract management team accordingly
• Attending RQHSE Safety meetings/investigation support
• Carry out any other mission or work assigned by the Standards & Compliance Manager.

Skills and Experience

• Minimum8 years’ Rail experience in systems assurance.
• Extensive experience in Metro and other Guided Transport Systems (e.g. APM, Tram, Monorail)
• Deep experience with the standards EN50126, EN 50128, EN50129, IEC 61508 or comparable is mandatory, European legal framework in railway domain (CSM regulation)
• RAM management experience of complex transportation schemes.
• Test & Commissioning experience of complex transportation schemes.

• A Degree / Diploma qualification, preferably Engineering, Science or Mathematics related
• Experience leading Systems Engineering activities in accordance with ISO/IEC 15288.

• IT literate and have good reporting and presentation skills
