Overview of the Role:

• Deliver a safe and reliable passenger service with a specific focus on prompt and safe corrective and reactive maintenance, leading to enhanced availability and reliability performance of assets.

KeyAccountabilities:

• Provide effective engineering and maintenance services covering the AFC, SCADA and Telecommunications systems for Lusail Tram.
• Perform all levels of preventive and corrective maintenance activities and minor modifications on AFC, SCADA and Telecommunications systems.
• Diagnose cause of malfunction or failure of operational equipment, replace faulty equipment and handover/taken back to the electrical workshop for repair.
• Carry out repair and Engineering & Maintenance work with the use of hand, machine, electrical and electronic tools and reference to technical drawings, schematics, manuals, procedures and instructions.
• Document all maintenance activities, including completed work, pending issues, spare parts used, system status, and store transactions related to material issuance, returns, or replacements.
• Coordinate with the stores team to ensure timely collection and return of parts and update inventory records accordingly.
• Maintain accurate Engineering & Maintenance records of AFC, SCADA, and Telecommunications systems and equipment performance, work accomplished, and other information using a computerised maintenance management system.
• Checking and offering as fit for service any part of designated communications equipment after installing, renewing, testing, maintaining, repairing, or altering.
• Ensure the maintenance tools and the equipment are in good condition both before and after the maintenance activities. Calibrate various electrical and electronic test equipment and PC.
• Perform shift and emergency duties when required.
• Perform and carry out duties as instructed/ directed by the AFC Engineer.
• Maintain test equipment calibration and associated records.
• Installation of safety critical and telecommunications related components onto passenger train vehicles or engineering vehicles.
• Coordinating with other persons responsible for Track Possession, Power rail control, driving, dispatching and controlling the movement of rail vehicles.
• Maintain a safe system of work to protect the safety of persons working on or near the track.

Skills and Experience:

• Minimum 3 years’ work experience as an AFC maintenance technician in Railways or any related sector.
• Diploma in Electronics & Communication Engineering or Industrial training Institution (I.T.I) certification or Vocational trade certificate in electronics engineering discipline or equivalent.
• Working knowledge in AFC, SCADA, and Telecommunications systems, including Networking, Storage, and Linux.
• Strong organisational skills, detail oriented, and the ability to handle multiple priorities.
• Thorough understanding of all aspects of safety issues related to railway operations.
• CCNA certification, Computer skills certification is an advantage.
