Lead Age Mechanic

Job Summary

The Lead AGE Mechanic supervises, trains AGE technicians, performs inspections, maintenance and servicing, and stores assigned AGEs. Responsibilities include maintaining and inspecting hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical and fuel systems on turbine, diesel and gasoline engine driven AGEs. Oversees day‑to‑day shop operations and coordinates priorities with the AGE Superintendent to ensure compliance with USAF/Amentum technical data, Performance Work Statement (PWS) and Amentum ISO‑9001 Quality Management System.

Responsibilities

• Train AGEs technicians and conduct periodic inspections, maintenance and repair actions on assigned AGE assets.
• Stock, maintain and requisition parts, tools, and supplies needed for asset work.
• Prepare AGE/FLSE and other equipment for exercises or deployments.
• Respond to inquiries about storage and status of assigned equipment.
• Use diagnostic equipment to troubleshoot hydraulic, electrical, fuel and pneumatic systems.
• Prepare and complete documentation (work orders, supply forms, technical orders) and coordinate actions.
• Direct maintenance by action sheets, US Air Force technical orders and Amentum directives.
• Orient new personnel, plan assignments and establish work methods.
• Conduct on‑the‑job training on safety data sheets, security awareness and other subjects; keep training records.
• Inspect assets and equipment for shipment by air, sea and surface transportation.
• Operate material handling equipment and maintain safe work area.
• Inspect hazardous materials and coordinate HAZMAT disposal.
• Submit quality/material deficiency reports and technical order changes as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned and work outdoors as needed.

Minimum Requirements

• Excellent organizational skills; intermediate English communication skills.
• Ability to understand and relay technical data to subordinates.
• Valid home‑country driver’s license and ability to obtain host‑nation driver’s license.
• Experience operating material handling equipment.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Knowledge of health and risk hazards and safety precautions.
• At least five years practical military or civilian experience in ground support equipment operation and maintenance.
• Physical ability to lift/push/pull minimum of 50 lbs.; travel domestically and internationally.

Preferred Qualifications

• Training in mechanical and electrical maintenance functions.
