Inspector - QA/QC

The Inspector – QA/QC is responsible for performing quality inspections, tests, and verifications during manufacturing, assembly, and installation processes to ensure that all products and operations comply with company standards, client specifications, and international codes. The role ensures adherence to quality procedures and supports continuous improvement in quality performance across oil and gas operations.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Conduct in-process, final, and incoming inspections of materials, components, and equipment to ensure compliance with specifications, drawings, and standards.
• Verify welding, fabrication, machining, and assembly work according to engineering drawings, quality plans, and inspection test plans (ITPs).
• Review and maintain inspection reports, calibration certificates, material test certificates (MTCs), and other QA/QC documentation.
• Identify and report non-conformities, raise NCRs (Non-Conformance Reports), and follow up on corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
• Coordinate mechanical, hydrostatic, pneumatic, and functional testing activities as per project and client requirements.
• Monitor welding procedures, welder qualifications, and NDT (Non-Destructive Testing) activities such as RT, UT, MT, and PT as required.
• Ensure that measuring and inspection tools are properly calibrated and maintained.
• Conduct vendor inspections and coordinate with third-party inspectors when required for project-specific deliverables.
• Prepare and maintain inspection records, test results, and quality dossiers for final documentation and client submission.
• Support QA/QC engineers in identifying recurring quality issues and recommending process improvements.
• Ensure all inspections are performed in compliance with applicable international standards such as ASME, ASTM, API, ISO, and company-specific QA/QC procedures.

QHSE Responsibilities

• Comply with all QHSE standards, policies, and procedures relevant to your work.
• Actively participate in QHSE meetings and complete all required safety inductions and trainings.
• Identify and report unsafe conditions; take corrective action where possible within your scope.
• Follow guidance provided by QHSE officers and use PPE and emergency equipment correctly.
• Support a safe work environment by cooperating with safety practices and encouraging others to do the same.
• Refer to the OHSMS Manual, Section 4.4.1, for further clarification on individual QHSE responsibilities and accountability.

Job-Specific Education & Certification

Education

• Diploma or Degree in Mechanical / Production / Industrial Engineering or equivalent technical discipline

Certifications

• Certification in CSWIP 3.1 / AWS-CWI, NDT Level II, or equivalent is preferred.

Skill

• Welding/WPS - Inspect and file up, WPS/WPQ compliance, preheat/interpass, and weld visual acceptability per code.
• Filing - File RFIs, ITRs, calibration certificates, and traceability packs per MDR/ITP indexing.
• Coating QC - Verify surface preparation, DFT/holiday tests, and cure times; record batches and conditions.
• NCRs - Track NCR lifecycle—initiation, disposition, re‑inspection evidence, and CAPA verification.
• Reports - Issue inspection reports with hold/witness points, NCRs raised, and punchal list status.
• Registers - Update weld, coating, material, and instrument registers with revision control.

Experience

• Minimum 4–6 years of relevant experience in QA/QC inspection within oil & gas, fabrication, or heavy equipment manufacturing industry.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001 quality systems and documentation.
• Experience in working with ERP / SAP Quality Management (QM) module is an advantage.
