Job Overview:  

We are looking for a skilled Database Developer & Administrator to join our team on a contractual basis. This role focuses on the design, implementation, and optimization of robust data solutions using the Microsoft SQL Server stack. The role balances complex backend programming with high-level data architecture to ensure performance, reliability, and security for mission-critical operations. The candidate should have 8 to 10 years of experience in SQL development and will work to support our operations in Qatar. This role involves developing, maintaining and optimizing database solutions to meet our business needs. 

Key Responsibilities:  

• Develop, implement, and optimize SQL queries and stored procedures. 
• Design and maintain database systems, ensuring data integrity and performance. 
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver database solutions. 
• Perform database tuning, optimization, and troubleshooting. 
• Ensure compliance with database best practices and security standards. 
• Support data migration, data integration, and ETL processes. 
• Provide technical support and resolve database-related issues. 
• Document database designs, configurations, and code changes.

Required Skills and Qualifications:  

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. 
• 8-10 years of proven experience as an SQL Developer or similar role. 
• Proficiency in SQL and experience with relational databases (e.g., MSSQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL). 
• Strong understanding of database design, data modelling, and normalization. 
• Must have experience with performance tuning and query optimization. 
• Must have experience with ETL processes and tools.
• Must have experience of database security practices.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills. 

Good to have:

• Experience working in the Middle East or South Asia region. 
• Familiarity with cloud database services (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database). 
• Certification in SQL, Azure or database management.
