Job Description

We invite you to join the world of luxury hospitality at Raffles & Fairmont Doha as our new Commis 2.

As a Commis II at Raffles Doha and Fairmont Doha, you will play an integral role in delivering exceptional culinary experiences through the preparation and presentation of high-quality dishes in accordance with the renowned standards of Raffles and Fairmont. Working alongside a talented culinary team, you will contribute to creating memorable dining experiences by ensuring consistency, precision, and attention to detail in every aspect of food preparation.

You will be responsible for supporting daily kitchen operations, maintaining the highest standards of hygiene and food safety, and assisting in the smooth execution of service. With a passion for hospitality and culinary excellence, you will embody the elegance, sophistication, and service excellence that define both Raffles and Fairmont.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and present food items in accordance with the culinary standards and recipes of Raffles Doha and Fairmont Doha.
• Assist senior chefs in the daily operation of the kitchen, ensuring smooth and efficient service during all meal periods.
• Maintain the highest standards of food quality, taste, presentation, and portion control at all times.
• Ensure proper handling, storage, and rotation of food products in compliance with hygiene and food safety standards.
• Support the preparation and mise en place for various outlets, banquets, and special events as required.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, kitchen equipment, and food storage areas in line with HACCP standards.
• Monitor stock levels and assist in minimizing food waste while maintaining operational efficiency.
• Collaborate closely with colleagues across the culinary team to ensure seamless kitchen operations and exceptional guest experiences.
• Follow all hotel policies, grooming standards, and brand procedures in alignment with the luxury service culture of Raffles & Fairmont Doha.
• Assist in receiving and inspecting deliveries to ensure product quality and freshness standards are met.
• Demonstrate flexibility and willingness to support different kitchen sections based on operational requirements.
• Contribute to a positive and professional team environment while embodying the elegance, sophistication, and service excellence of Raffles and Fairmont.

Qualifications

What will you bring to this role?

• Previous experience in a professional kitchen environment, preferably within a luxury hotel or high-end restaurant, is an advantage.
• Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques, kitchen operations, and food safety standards.
• Passion for culinary arts with a strong desire to learn and develop within a luxury hospitality environment.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen while maintaining attention to detail and consistency in food quality.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively within a diverse culinary team.
• Knowledge of HACCP standards and safe food handling practices preferred.
• Positive attitude, professional appearance, and commitment to delivering excellence in line with Raffles and Fairmont brand standards.
• Flexibility to work rotating shifts, weekends, and public holidays based on operational requirements.
• Ability to remain organized and maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene at all times.
• Culinary certification or relevant vocational training is an advantage.
