Early Years Teacher

Responsibilities

• Set high expectations, inspire, motivate and challenge pupils.

• Promote high standards of literacy, articulacy and correct use of standard English.

• Set homework and plan out‑of‑class activities for consolidation and extension.

• Assess using formative and summative methods, use data to monitor progress and set targets.
• Give regular feedback, encourage pupils to respond to feedback.
• Manage behaviour, establish rules and routines, promote good etiquette.
• Maintain discipline framework using praise, sanctions and rewards fairly.
• Manage classes effectively, involve and motivate pupils, build good relationships.
• Contribute to wider school life, including extra‑curricular activities.
• Communicate effectively with parents about achievements and well‑being.
• Complete additional tasks reasonably expected of a teacher.
• Maintain awareness of health and safety across the school and enforce safety rules.
• Perform playground duties, safeguard students, assist in implementing policies.
• Demonstrate high standards of personal and professional conduct, ethics, boundaries.
• Show respect for the rights of others, uphold British values, respect diverse beliefs.
• Maintain high attendance and punctuality, respect cultural expectations.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in teaching from an accredited institution.
• Required teaching certification for Qatar MOEHE.
• Meet professional teacher education requirements of the school.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in child care and protection.
• English language proficiency mandatory.
• In‑depth knowledge of assessment methods and up‑to‑date curriculum developments.
• Application of effective teaching theory and practice for individual student needs.
• Proven management skills, excellent communication and presentation abilities.
• Strong organisational skills, punctual, multi‑tasking, deadline‑oriented.
• Works calmly under pressure, flexible, customer‑service oriented.
• Critical thinking, negotiation, persuasion, motivation skills.
• Willingness to be part of the school team, collaborative and professional.
• Safeguarding and welfare of children, inter‑cultural awareness, emotional intelligence.
• Proficiency in computer applications: word processing, spreadsheets.
• Strong data collection, record‑keeping, report preparation.
• Commitment to professional development and continuous learning.

• All post holders are subject to appropriate vetting procedures including due diligence search, references, and satisfactory criminal background checks covering the previous ten years.
