Repairman

• Inspect, prepare, and maintain new, circulating, and standby ladles according to SOP requirements, ensuring they are ready and safe for EAF tapping operations.
  
• Perform ladle refractory inspection, repair, and replacement , including refractory linings, nozzles, porous plugs, slide plates, and associated mechanisms.
  
• Remove metal and slag buildup from ladle lips, shells, slide plate bores, nozzles, steel pots, and slag pots using oxygen lances, cleaning tools, and hand tools.
  
• Inspect ladle refractory condition, purging systems, IPV purging pressure, steel passage nozzles, fluid-control systems, and mechanical locking/sealing arrangements .
  
• Monitor ladle internal and shell temperatures and perform maintenance of ladle/tundish fluid-control and auto-purging mechanisms to ensure equipment readiness.
  
• Coordinate with production and maintenance teams while strictly following operational, safety, environmental, and quality procedures , including overtime, standby, and call-out duties when required.
  

Requirements

• Technical Diploma or Higher Secondary Education from a recognized institution.
  
• Minimum 3 years of experience in a Steel Making Plant in the same or similar job profile – mandatory .
  
• Hands-on knowledge of ladle refractory maintenance, ladle preparation, slide plates, nozzles, porous plugs, purging systems, and refractory replacement/repair .
  
• Good knowledge of Steel Melt Shop (SMS) processes , particularly ladle operations, EAF tapping, tundish systems, and refractory practices.
  
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, SOPs, and technical documents , with basic mathematical and computer skills.
  
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills , good English communication, and the ability to work under pressure and in environments involving high heat, dust, heights, and gases , while maintaining strict safety and quality standards.
