Job Description

The post holder will report to the Avionics JuniorSupervisor and be an experienced and skilled avionic technician, undertaking arange of detailed base maintenance activities on Typhoon aircraft.

The post holder requires an experience of maintenance on theTyphoon, understanding of approved data set and is competent to carrying outmaintenance instructions in accordance with the organisation’s regulatoryframework.

Demonstrates a distinct ability of trade knowledge of Typhoonaircraft and assemblies, follow diagnostic procedures and work effectivelywithin a team.

Core Activity:

Undertakingdetailed maintenance, inspection activities on the Typhoon Avionic systems.Assuring your work undertaken is completed in accordance with the workpackage, using the relevant approved technical information. Assisting in resolvingfaults and maintenance issues, including an awareness of configurationmanagement

Undertakingand complete tasked maintenance activities on Typhoon Avionic systems,which may include, as appropriate, component removals, inspections,repairs, modifications, fault rectifications, replacements and / orfunctional / system test

Demonstratea flexible and proactive attitude to carrying out responsibilitiesappropriate to the role and takes direction appropriately

Maintaininga personal task authorisation for working on components in accordance withQAF requirements

Progressreporting against delivery targets to supervisor

Undertakingsupport tasks within the Base Maintenance Facility which are required tomaintain compliance with the MOE and QAF procedures (e.g. oversightchecks, control of tooling / test equipment)

Undertakingfault evaluation and raise ad hoc work cards for ‘found faults’ duringmaintenance

Ensuringall Maintenance activities are appropriately documented and airworthinessrecords are maintained on relevant systems (IT / paper based). Compilerequired reporting, identify any issues and elevateas appropriate

Maintaininga personal Log Book to demonstrate currency and recency, on completion ofOn the Job training (OJT) activities, sign other personnel’slogbooksas appropriate within your trade and skills boundaries.

Key Accountabilities:

Performanceindicators – Leading by example to provide effective maintenanceactivities by meeting delivery targets, monitoring progress and reportingany impact on continuing airworthiness. Identify any issues and elevateas appropriate. Understand how the teams and own actions contribute tooverall delivery performance and safety

Procedure/standards –Comply with the regulatory framework, its associated procedures andstandards, and any other company procedures andstandards. Identify and propose change as required asapplicable

SafetyManagement System – Ensure human factors and error managementphilosophies are applied to all maintenance activities. Understand therisks associated with maintenance activities and the means by which theyare mitigated and managed

ContinuingAirworthiness Assurance (Quality)– Ensure maintenance activitiesare compliant with the continuing airworthiness assurance managementsystem, in conjunction with the MOE

Statutory/Regulatory& Legislative requirements – Able to demonstrate anappropriate level of understanding and application of the relevantcontinuing airworthiness regulatory framework. Support the implementationof any regulatory driven changes into the maintenance activities. Ensurecompliance with all other requirements, e.g. ITAR, EaPW, ISO

Contractual Requirements – Comply with all applicable contractualrequirements

Requirements

TyphoonAvionic Experience

Completionof an Engineering Apprenticeship, ideally in Aeronautical Engineering orMilitary equivalent apprenticeship / qualifications. Academicqualification for this role is a minimum of City & Guilds 2675 or 2661in Aeronautical Engineering and Maintenance or equivalent. Aircraftplatform training (On a/c requirement)

Requiresa broad and in-depth product knowledge/competency within owntechnical/subject area. Awareness of how the team integrates with othersin order to achieve the overall objectives of the area and demonstrates anunderstanding of the requirement for continuous improvement and itsapplication

Experiencedand competent operator. Requires a minimum of 1 year workingwithin Typhoon Base Maintenance. Demonstrating experience, currency &recency via a Log Book capturing skills, knowledge and authorities forworking on Aircraft type. Practical experience and expertise in theapplication of aviation safety standards and safe operating practices. Aknowledge of Expositions and Functionally Mandated Procedures Managementtraining. PDR training / experience

Ensurepersonal compliance with the risk assessments, SHE policies and procedures
