Position: Manager – Contracts

Department: Commercial Contracts

Reporting To: Corporate Manager – Contracts

1. Job Summary

Lead the contracts and commercial function for assigned projects and business units, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations, effective claims management, commercial governance, cost control, and subcontract management. Safeguard company interests through strong contractual oversight, negotiation, and coordination with project stakeholders.

2. Key Responsibilities

• Lead contract reviews, administration, correspondence, and tracking of contractual obligations.

• Prepare, submit, review, and negotiate claims, variations, and Extension of Time (EOT) requests.

• Monitor claim progress to ensure timely processing, follow-up, and resolution.

• Monitor subcontractor performance and ensure compliance with contractual obligations.

• Ensure compliance with contract requirements, commercial procedures, and company policies.

• Maintain contract registers, commercial documentation, governance records, and management reports.

• Coordinate contractual and commercial matters with Project Managers, Planning, Engineering, Cost Control, and Procurement teams.

• Review and manage contractual risks and support effective resolution of contractual disputes.

• Lead the preparation, review, and approval of contractual correspondence, ensuring accuracy, compliance with contract terms, and timely issuance.

• Understand and implement contractual resolution processes while protecting company interests in dealings with clients and subcontractors.

• Monitor contract compliance and ensure that contractual notices, responses, and submissions are issued within required timelines.

• Support commercial governance, risk mitigation, and effective contract management across assigned projects.

3. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or a related field.

4. Experience

• Minimum 15 years of overall professional experience .

• At least 8 years of relevant experience in contracts and commercial management .

• Experience in construction-based industries, particularly large-scale civil and infrastructure projects.

9. Role Authority

Exercise managerial authority over contract and commercial management activities for assigned projects, ensuring compliance with contractual requirements, commercial procedures, and company policies.
