Works Inspector - Landscape

Position Overview

We are seeking experienced Works Inspectors – Landscape to join in Qatar. The successful candidates will be responsible for inspecting and monitoring landscape construction activities to ensure that all works are executed in accordance with approved drawings, project specifications, quality standards, and approved construction procedures.

Educational Qualification

• Technical Diploma in Landscape, Horticulture, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Relevant technical qualifications in landscape construction will be preferred.

Experience

• Minimum 10 years of total professional experience.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant/similar experience in landscape construction inspection and supervision.
• Experience in large-scale landscaping, building, infrastructure, or development projects is preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect and monitor all landscape construction activities to ensure compliance with approved drawings and specifications.
• Supervise and inspect hardscape and softscape works , including paving, kerbs, planting, irrigation, external works, and landscape features.
• Review approved drawings, specifications, method statements, and material submissions before commencement of works.
• Conduct regular site inspections and report any non-compliance or defective workmanship.
• Verify that materials delivered to site comply with approved material submissions and project requirements.
• Inspect landscape materials including plants, soil, fertilizers, paving materials, irrigation components, and other related materials.
• Monitor planting works, including soil preparation, tree and shrub planting, turf installation, and maintenance requirements.
• Inspect hardscape works such as paving, kerbs, walkways, edging, and external landscape structures.
• Monitor irrigation installation and testing activities in coordination with the relevant teams.
• Verify dimensions, levels, alignment, slopes, and setting-out of landscape works.
• Review and monitor Inspection Requests (IRs) and ensure works are ready for inspection before approval.
• Identify defective or non-conforming works and report them to the relevant engineer.
• Monitor corrective actions and ensure identified defects are properly rectified.
• Maintain accurate inspection records, site reports, checklists, and quality documentation.
• Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, consultants, and other site teams.
• Monitor progress of landscape works and report delays or site issues to the supervising engineer.
• Ensure contractors comply with project quality, health, safety, and environmental requirements .
• Assist the engineering team during testing, snagging, completion, and handover of landscape works.

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of landscape construction and inspection practices .
• Good understanding of hardscape, softscape, irrigation, planting, and external works.
• Ability to read and interpret landscape drawings and project specifications.
• Good knowledge of construction materials and quality inspection procedures.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to identify defective workmanship.
• Good communication and coordination skills.
• Ability to prepare clear inspection reports and maintain site documentation.
• Ability to work effectively in a construction site environment.
