The Role

A professional, experienced, and nurturing Live-In Governess/Nanny is sought to support the structured care and holistic development of a bright young girl.

This role combines traditional Nanny responsibilities with a Governess-style focus on organisation, academic guidance, and social development. The successful candidate will provide consistency, structure, and positive mentorship, fostering independence while maintaining clear boundaries.

The family is looking for a warm, engaging individual who can build a close, trusting bond while confidently providing leadership and guidance appropriate for a pre-teen.

Key Responsibilities

Morning & School Routine

Early start (approximately 5:45am–6:00am) to oversee the morning routine
Ensure the child is prepared for school: dressed appropriately, well-presented, and has eaten breakfast
School drop-off at 7:20am and collection at 1:30pm

Afternoon & Evening Routine

Supervise homework and provide academic support
Oversee music practice and extracurricular activities (tennis, piano, dance)
Monitor and manage device usage and screen time
Ensure a calm and consistent bedtime routine (typically 9:30pm)

Organisation & Development

Prepare school bags, uniforms, and lunches in advance
Maintain and organise the child’s wardrobe
Coordinate schedules, activities, and playdates
Encourage independence, confidence, and positive social skills
Provide gentle mentoring appropriate to this age group

Travel & Household Integration

Oversee packing and organisation for family travel
Travel with the family when required
Work harmoniously within a fully staffed household, ensuring smooth daily routines

Candidate Requirements

Proven experience working with pre-teens or teenagers as a Nanny, Governess, or in a comparable educational role
Fluent English speaker (additional languages advantageous)
Strong organisational skills with the ability to create structure and consistency
Warm, approachable, and emotionally intelligent
Confident in setting boundaries while maintaining a nurturing approach
Proactive, forward-thinking, and able to anticipate needs
Experience in fully staffed private households preferred
Driving licence advantageous but not essential
