Senior Safety Technician ( Inspection)

NES is working with an oil and gas client in Qatar to hire a Senior Safety Technician to participate in the implementation of the safety management programme.Â

- Conduct scheduled safety inspections across assigned facilities and locations, verifying plant safety equipment readiness and overall site conditions.
- Prepare written inspection reports for the Safety Officer and support prompt close-out of corrective actions.
- Monitor gas testing by Operations and carry out gas tests independently when required; interpret results and recommend safe actions.
- Support initial incident/accident investigations, issue written reports, and secure the area in the event of serious incidents until the investigation team arrives.
- Assist with maintenance and record-keeping for safety equipment (e.g., H2S sensors, gas detectors, breathing apparatus sets, stock levels).
- Monitor the Permit to Work (PTW) system and report any unsafe practices or violations.
- Participate in site safety meetings and provide on-site HSE advice to maintenance and construction teams.
- Provide safety standby coverage for critical work (e.g., vessel entry/confined space and hot work).
- Assist with first aid response as required (within training and authorization).
- A minimum of 8 years related experience, preferably in a petrochemical environment
- Completed Secondary School Education (12 years).
- English proficiency - Level 6 (minimum).
- Completed two (2) years of training in a technical discipline (trade/technical training).
- Completed a recognised Safety Management course.
- Valid Qatar driving licence (mandatory).
