Workshop Controller - Automotive - Qatar

A leading provider of aerial work platforms (AWPs) and mobile elevating work platforms (MEWPs) in the Middle East and Asia is looking for a skilled Workshop controller.

The Controller role is one of the busiest and most pressurized roles. This role consists of handing out workto Technicians to ensure smooth running of the workshop. The role holder will also liaise with the Service Departmentto be on hand to answer any queries from the Workshop Manager. The role is responsible for ensuring all incomingwork is planned then managing the time and resources. The Workshop Controller assigns technicians to tasksensuring productivity is maximized and that deadlines are adhered to. As a controller, the incumbent is responsiblefor performance management and development of the team.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

• To assist management in implementing and maintaining effective processes to achieve the highest possiblecustomer satisfaction levels.
• Experience with creating parameters for job activities/ “Standard Repair/ Operating Time” for jobs to be done.
• To distribute and control the issue of work to the Technicians to maximise quality and overall efficiency bypushing work through the workshop and managing the workflow.
• To lead, motivate and develop the team to achieve their daily objectives.
• To ensure a strong relationship is maintained with the parts department to maximise parts availability.
• To ensure the accurate and timely completion of all job card write-ups and incident reports for each repairincluding job completion status
• To ensure that a safe working environment is maintained in line with the Company’s HSE policy and thatgeneral housekeeping and appearance are maintained at a high standard.
• As with all positions within the company, you are expected to uphold the highest ethical standards.

Requirements

• Degree or diploma in engineering/ operations or workflow management
• Experience working within a commercial vehicle workshop is preferred.
• Minimum of 3 yrs. experience on the same field.
• A hands on leader, with a proven background in people management in terms of achievement through theirteam, you will have an extensive knowledge of the operational running of a workshop and businessadministration, with a strong computer literacy.
• Good knowledge of English, both written and spoken. Knowledge of an additional language is an asset.
• The ideal candidate must be energetic, self-motivated, a forward-thinking team player and have a stable workhistory with excellent communication skills.
• Valid Qatar driving license.
