Job Title: Project Coordinator (Design – Consultancy)

Location: Qatar

Department: Design / Engineering Consultancy

Experience Required: Minimum 15 years (Qatar experience mandatory)

1. Purpose of the Role

To coordinate and manage all design-related activities across multidisciplinary consultancy teams, ensuring timely delivery of design packages, compliance with Qatar regulations, and effective communication between stakeholders including clients, consultants, and authorities.

2. Key Responsibilities

A. Design Coordination

• Coordinate architectural, structural, and MEP design deliverables across all project stages
  
• Ensure alignment between disciplines and resolve design clashes/issues
  
• Monitor design progress against agreed timelines and milestones
  
• Support the Design Manager in managing the overall design process
  

B. Consultant Management

• Act as the primary point of coordination between client and design consultants
  
• Review consultant submissions for completeness and compliance
  
• Track and follow up on design deliverables, RFIs, and technical queries
  
• Ensure timely responses and coordination among all stakeholders
  

C. Authority Coordination

• Coordinate submissions and approvals with key authorities such as:
  • Ashghal
    
  • Kahramaa
    
  • Civil Defence Qatar
    
• Ensure all designs comply with Qatar Construction Specifications (QCS) and local regulations
  
• Track NOCs, permits, and authority approval processes
  

D. Project Planning & Reporting

• Prepare and maintain design schedules, trackers, and progress reports
  
• Monitor key milestones and highlight delays/risks
  
• Conduct coordination meetings and prepare MOM (Minutes of Meeting)
  
• Report progress to senior management and stakeholders
  

E. Documentation & Quality Control

• Ensure proper management of design documentation and version control
  
• Review drawings for consistency, coordination, and quality standards
  
• Maintain logs for RFIs, submissions, approvals, and revisions
  

F. Stakeholder Coordination

• Liaise with clients, contractors, consultants, and internal teams
  
• Facilitate smooth communication across all project parties
  
• Support value engineering and design optimization discussions
  

Requirements

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture / Engineering (Civil / MEP or related field)
  
• PMP or similar certification is an advantage
  

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 15 years of total experience
  
• Mandatory Qatar project experience
  
• Strong background in design consultancy projects
  
• Experience in large-scale projects (commercial, mixed-use, infrastructure, etc.)
  
• Proven experience in design coordination and consultant management
