HVAC Technician - Assessor

As the HVAC Technician‑Assessor, you will be responsible for the installation, inspection, maintenance and troubleshooting of industrial HVAC equipment such as boilers, chillers, and light commercial units. This role requires theoretical knowledge of air conditioning and the production of chilled water, as well as practical mechanical and electrical understanding.

Job Responsibilities

• Coordinate and perform inspections on HVAC systems and components (e.g., heating units, building exhaust fans, ventilation units) to evaluate condition, identify necessary repairs, and recommend preventive maintenance.
• Perform installations of HVAC equipment and systems and monitor repairs on systems and/or components (e.g., pumps, motors, air handlers, fan coils, piping).
• Coordinate with HVAC Lead and/or Trade Shop Supervisor on completing projects and work orders efficiently.
• Diagnose causes of problems and/or failures in HVAC systems to identify equipment and/or systems repair and/or replacement needs.
• Track performance of routine and preventive maintenance to ensure the availability of HVAC systems.
• Prepare written reports (work order status, activity logs, etc.) for documenting activities and/or conveying information.
• Request equipment and supplies to maintain correct inventory amounts and ensure availability of items required to complete installations and/or repairs.
• Respond to emergency situations during or after hours to resolve immediate safety concerns.
• Perform other duties as requested.

Education & Experience

• High School diploma or GED.
• At least five (5) years of journey-level HVAC experience.
• EPA Universal Certification required.

Additional Requirements

• Valid U.S. driver’s license.
• Valid U.S. passport (preferred).
• Must meet all current USCENTCOM Deployment Policy Requirements as outlined in the USCENTCOM APR 23 MOD EIGHTEEN TO USCENTCOM INDIVIDUAL AND INDIVIDUAL-UNIT DEPLOYMENT POLICY.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid residency visa for Qatar.
• Must be able to work in extreme environmental conditions including dust and high temperatures.
• Must be able to endure long hours, exposure to weather and hazardous conditions.

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in the use of hand and power tools common to trade.
• Ability to interpret and apply codes, blueprints, wiring diagrams, and engineering drawings.
• Knowledge of operation/installation of a variety of complete HVAC systems/equipment.

Travel

100%, in deployed location.

Security Clearance

Must have and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance.
