Purpose

Work closely with Fleet Managers and other members of Ship Management including Marine and Technical team, highlight areas of improvement.

Monitor Shipnet application and do necessary changes in maintenance schedule in consultation with the Managers. PMS compliance by Vessel to be audited and corrective actions to be taken.

Technical inputs to Shipnet IT team for PMS change requests and other modifications required through MSM PMS engineer.

Technical evaluation of contracted bulk spares, stores and services by the procurement department.

External Communication

• Various Vendors and Service providers

Spare parts, Services, Logistics and IT outsourced services.

Occupational Health & Safety and Environment

Accountability

Accountable to their line manager and direct reports as far as is practical to ensure

• a safe place of work.
• Safe systems of work.
• Safe assest, plant & equipment.
• Provision of information and training.

Responsibility

His/her personal safety and that of all personnel under his/her authority, including others who may be affected by the company’s activities.

In particular to:

• Conduct risk assessments on activities within their department ensuring that the methods and safe systems of work are safe and implemented.
• Ensure all employees and contractors under their control are competent to undertake their duties.
• Ensure all accidents, incidents and near misses are reported and investigated.
• Promote good behaviors and set a personal example regarding occupational health and safety matters.

Authority

Managers/Supervisors have the authority to stop work when health and safety is unsafe or being compromised.
