We are working with our client based in Qatar to source a Sr. Instrumentation Engineer. This is a residential contract based in Qatar.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Instrumentation & Electrical or Electrical & Electronics Engineering.
- 10 years of relevant postgraduate experience, of which 6 years should be related to the Oil & Gas industry.
- Chartered Engineer / Professional Engineer status or equivalent is preferable.
- Ability to identify and utilize relevant engineering standards and codes related to Instrumentation Engineering.
- Proven ability to manage time, cost and quality in engineering projects within a multiple project environment.
- Good communication and presentation skills with fluency in English.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide technical design and engineering services in Instrumentation Engineering for all assigned engineering projects.
- Achieve the technical quality of work in accordance with procedures, whilst considering quality, schedule, cost and HSE.
- Conduct Instrumentation Engineering activities and in-house site surveys for projects from initial concept definition phase through to engineering studies, FEED, detailed design and commissioning.
- Ensure the required technical assurance practices, engineering standards, environmental and safety policies are incorporated and followed in work-scopes and whilst conducting instrumentation engineering activities.
- Review technical deviations and variations to approved guidelines, codes, standards and practices.
- Support the Engineering Department to review, update and apply standards and amendments to external standards.
- Plan and coordinate activities of a team of multi-discipline engineers for timely delivery of technical services to meet project requirements.
- Coordinate engineering designs, develop and review multi-disciplinary work-scopes for projects and other engineering activities.
- Ensure the work scope is comprehensive and clear.
- Review and approve method statements developed by contracted organisations for scope compliance.
- Liaise with contracted organisations to resolve technical issues.
- Develop, update and monitor schedules for in-house engineering activities, contribute to external FEED/EPIC scheduling activities and effective project delivery.
- Conduct evaluation of technical bid packages for scope compliance.
- Review and evaluate contract changes/variations to approved guidelines and practices.
- Support the development of personal technical competency and skill sets of co-workers.
- Participate in structured training for Associate Qatari Engineers.
