Job Summary
We are seeking a highly experienced Planning Engineer with a strong background in construction and infrastructure projects. The candidate will be responsible for developing, monitoring, and controlling project schedules to ensure timely and cost-effective project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Project Planning & Scheduling
- Develop detailed project schedules using Primavera P6 .
- Prepare baseline programs, resource-loaded schedules, and work breakdown structures (WBS).
- Define project timelines, milestones, and critical path activities.
Monitoring & Control
- Track project progress and update schedules regularly.
- Identify delays and propose corrective actions.
- Monitor productivity and resource utilization.
Reporting
- Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports.
- Present schedule performance, delays, and recovery plans to management and clients.
- Maintain dashboards and KPI tracking.
Delay Analysis & Claims
- Perform delay analysis (EOT claims) using accepted methodologies.
- Support commercial team in preparing and evaluating claims.
- Maintain proper documentation for contractual compliance.
Coordination
- Liaise with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and clients.
- Coordinate with site teams to gather progress data.
- Ensure alignment between planning and execution teams.
Risk Management
- Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation plans.
- Monitor critical activities and flag risks proactively.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
- Minimum 10+ years of experience in planning & scheduling.
- Strong experience in roads, infrastructure, and utilities projects .
- Expertise in Primavera P6 (mandatory).
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Project is an advantage.
- Strong understanding of project lifecycle, construction sequences, and methodologies.
- Experience in delay analysis, EOT claims, and reporting.
- Familiarity with FIDIC contracts .
- GCC/Qatar experience preferred.
