Job Description

We are seeking an accomplished Project Director to provide strategic leadership, governance, and executive oversight for major capital projects and programmes. This senior leadership role is accountable for establishing project delivery frameworks, governance structures, resourcing strategies, and executive stakeholder engagement to ensure the successful delivery of complex, high-value initiatives.

The successful candidate will lead project and programme teams, oversee multiple project managers, and drive delivery excellence across all project phases within airport, live operational, or major infrastructure environments.

• Define and drive the project or programme vision, governance framework, and delivery strategy.
• Establish and lead large-scale project governance and delivery structures for complex, multi-billion-dollar programmes.
• Ensure alignment between project objectives and organizational strategy.
• Provide executive oversight across multiple projects and project managers.
• Ensure successful delivery across all project phases, from planning through operational handover.
• Drive performance, accountability, and delivery excellence across project teams.
• Act as the executive interface for clients, sponsors, senior leadership, and key stakeholders.
• Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships and ensure alignment with business objectives.
• Lead governance boards, steering committees, and executive-level reviews.
• Oversee programme budgets, forecasts, resource planning, and financial performance.
• Drive cost optimization and ensure effective financial governance across projects.
• Monitor commercial performance and support strategic decision-making.
• Establish project governance, assurance, and risk management frameworks.
• Ensure compliance with organizational policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.
• Proactively manage strategic risks and resolve critical issues.
• Provide executive leadership and direction on key project decisions.
• Resolve complex delivery, stakeholder, commercial, and operational challenges.
• Ensure projects achieve strategic, financial, and operational objectives.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree, Bachelor's Degree (BSc, BEng, BA), or equivalent qualification.
• PMP, PgMP, Chartered Engineer, or equivalent professional accreditation preferred.
• 15-25+ years of project, programme, or portfolio management experience.
• Proven leadership of major capital projects and programmes valued at USD 200M+ (or equivalent).
• Extensive experience managing complex, multi-stakeholder and multi-disciplinary delivery environments.
• Demonstrated experience leading multiple project managers and large project teams.
• 10-15+ years of experience in airport, live operational, or major infrastructure environments .
• Regional (Middle East) experience is preferred.
• Strong expertise in project governance, programme management, risk management, and organizational leadership.
• Strong financial management, forecasting, budgeting, and commercial acumen.
• Proficiency in project and programme management tools, reporting systems, and portfolio governance frameworks.
