Veterinary Assistant

Royal Veterinary Center is hiring a Veterinary Assistant to support our veterinarians and provide day-to-day care for animals at our Doha clinic.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide basic care for animals: feeding, watering, exercising, and monitoring health and behavior
- Prepare animals and examination rooms; restrain and calm animals during procedures
- Handle, clean, and sterilize veterinary equipment (syringes, IV lines, surgical instruments)
- Administer medications under veterinarian guidance (oral, topical, injections)
- Assist veterinarians during surgery: hand instruments, monitor vital signs, maintain sterile environment
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene throughout the facility to prevent disease spread
- Daily health checks of animals staying at the center; inspect housing facilities
- Manage patient records: treatments, medications, vital signs
- Provide first aid and stabilize injured animals in emergencies
Requirements
- Prior experience as a Veterinary Assistant or in animal care preferred
- Comfortable handling and restraining animals safely
- Attention to detail for record‑keeping and medication administration
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Punctual, optimistic, and willing to take on urgent tasks
- Ability to maintain strict hygiene and sterilization standards
