Offshore Crane Operator – Shutdown Project
TheOffshore Crane Operatorisresponsible for the safe operation of pedestal cranes during shutdownactivities, ensuring precise load handling in challenging offshore environmentswhile maintaining strict compliance with Qatari safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
CraneOperations:
- Operateoffshorepedestal cranes(50T to 500T capacity) for equipment/materiallifts
- Performblind liftsanddeckloading/unloadingof supply vessels
- Handle critical lifts ofpipingmodules, valves, and structural components
Safety & Compliance:
- Conductpre-operationalchecks(wire rope inspection, limit switches, hydraulic systems)
- FollowQP (QatarPetroleum) lifting proceduresandinternational standards(BS7121, LOLER)
- Implementlift plansandwork with banksmen/signalers
Shutdown Support:
- Coordinate with rigging teamsforheavy equipment positioning
- Assist inplatformmaintenance liftsandpersonnel basket transfers
Documentation:
- Maintaincrane logbooksandinspection records
Requirements
Certifications & Requirements:
Mandatory Certs:
- OPITO Stage 3 Crane Operator or API RP 2D certification
- BOSIET/HUET with CA-EBS (offshore survival)
- Qatar MME (Ministry ofMunicipality) license (oreligibility to obtain)
- H2S/BA and OGUK medical
Experience:
- 5+ years offshore craneoperation (3+ years in shutdown projects)
- Experience with FavelleFavco, Liebherr, or Manitowoc cranes
- Familiarity with Qatargas/RasGaslifting standards
