Director of Trading Risk

I have a senior-level opportunity for a Trading Risk professional, focusing on trading risk management at Director level.

In this role, the successful candidate will will be responsible for overseeing market, product, and operational risk controls, managing critical reporting systems, and collaborating closely with senior stakeholders to ensure the integrity of risk management processes. The position involves significant strategic oversight and leadership, making it a key leadership role within the company and offering a unique opportunity to lead and shape the trading risk framework.

This position will have a significant impact on shaping the company’s trading risk framework. The incumbent will have the opportunity to actively lead the setup of the trading entity, including designing and implementing policies, control procedures, and risk models in middle office at both the overall and desk level.

Requirements:

Bachelor degree, with MSc or MBA being advantageous
Minimum 15 years of experience, with at least 10 years in a commodity trading environment
Deep understanding of bridging trading and accounting reporting
Experience of linking market risk to other associated risks (liquidity risk, credit risk). Experience of understanding how these risks connect and being able to deal with Treasury and Credit is critical.
Experience of operational risk management
Experience of designing, implementing and maintaining systems and procedures to monitor and report trading activities for middle office
Excellent stakeholder management
