Room Assistant - Offshore Jackup Rig

Job Title: Engine Room Assistant – OffshoreJackup Rig
Location: Offshore Qatar (North Field, Halul Island, or ContractedRigs)
Employment Type: Rotational (e.g., 42 days on/21 days off)
Reporting To: Chief Engineer / Engine Room Supervisor
Key Responsibilities
1. Engine Room Operations Support
- Assist monitoringand maintaining all engine room equipment:
- Generators & switchgear (power distribution)
- Purifiers & separators (fuel and lube oil treatment)
2. Routine Maintenance & Inspections
- Perform daily checks (oillevels, temperatures, pressures)
- Assist in preventive maintenance (filterchanges, greasing, minor repairs)
- Maintain engine room logbooks and report abnormalities
3. Safety & Compliance
- Follow Qatar Energy (QP) safetyprocedures and Permit-to-Work (PTW) system
- Participate in emergency drills (engineroom fires, blackout scenarios)
- Ensure cleanliness to preventoil spills/slip hazards
- Assist in spare parts management and tool inventory
- Support bunkering operations (fuel/lubeoil transfer)
Requirements
Qualifications & Certifications
Mandatory:
- 2+ years experience in engine room operations (marine/offshorepreferred)
- BOSIET/FOET with HUET (Offshore Survival & HelicopterEscape)
- Qatar Ministry of Public Health MedicalCertificate
Preferred:
- HVAC/R experience (for auxiliary systems)
- Basic electrical knowledge (advantage for monitoring systems)
