Assistant Electrician – Offshore Jackup Rig
Job Title: Assistant Electrician – Offshore Jackup Rig
Location: Offshore Qatar (North Field Expansion, Halul Island, orContracted Rigs)
Employment Type: Rotational (42/ 21)
Reporting To: Chief Electrician / Electrical Supervisor
Key Responsibilities
1. Electrical System Support
- Assist in maintenance& troubleshooting of:
- HV/LV switchgear (Siemens, ABB)
- Drilling equipment circuits (VFDs, top drives, drawworks)
- Emergency systems (UPS, batteries, lighting)
2. Preventive Maintenance
- Perform thermal imaging checkson electrical panels
- Conduct insulation resistance tests onmotors/cables
- Replace contactors, relays, andbreakers
3. Safety & Compliance
- Follow Qatar Energy (QP) electricalsafety standards
- Adhere to ATEX/IECEx protocols inhazardous zones
4. Emergency Response
- Support blackout recovery and equipmentfailures
Requirements
Qualifications & Certifications
Mandatory:
- Diploma in Electrical Engineering or 2+ years offshore experience
- BOSIET/FOET with HUET (Offshore Survival & Helicopter Escape)
- Qatar Ministry of Public Health MedicalCertificate
