Job Title: Land Surveyor

Location: Qatar

Department: Engineering / Surveying

1. Purpose of the Role

To carry out accurate and reliable land and construction surveying activities, including setting out, verification, strata, subdivision, and demarcation works, ensuring full compliance with approved drawings, project specifications, and regulatory requirements in Qatar.

2. Key Responsibilities

A. Surveying & Setting Out

• Conduct topographic, boundary, and construction surveys.
  
• Perform precise setting out for buildings, infrastructure, and utilities.
  
• Establish and maintain benchmarks, control points, and survey reference systems.
  
• Verify levels, coordinates, and alignments before and during execution.
  

B. Strata Survey

• Prepare strata layouts including unit boundaries, common areas, and access zones.
  
• Calculate unit areas and spatial allocations based on approved drawings.
  
• Produce authority-ready strata drawings (CAD & PDF formats).
  
• Validate as-built conditions against design before final submission.
  

C. Subdivision Survey

• Develop subdivision layouts (plots, roads, utilities, and access corridors).
  
• Conduct site verification of boundaries and coordinates.
  
• Ensure compliance with planning and infrastructure requirements (Qatari Diar, Ashghal).
  
• Deliver accurate data and drawings for authority approvals.
  

D. Demarcation Works

• Execute on-site demarcation of land boundaries and plots.
  
• Install and verify boundary markers, pegs, and control points.
  
• Ensure alignment with approved cadastral and subdivision data.
  
• Support project handover by confirming physical plot limits.
  

E. Verification & Quality Control

• Ensure survey works meet required tolerances, drawings, and specifications.
  
• Conduct as-built surveys and prepare supporting documentation.
  
• Identify discrepancies and report to Project/Resident Engineers.
  
• Support QA/QC inspections and processes.
  

F. Documentation & Deliverables

• Prepare and submit:
  

  • Survey reports
    
  • Field notes and calculations
    
  • As-built drawings
    
  • Strata and subdivision packages
    
• Maintain organized survey logs and records.
  

G. Equipment & Systems

• Operate and maintain:
  

  • Total Station
    
  • GPS / GNSS equipment
    
  • Auto/Digital Levels
    
• Ensure calibration, accuracy, and safe handling of all equipment.
  

H. Coordination

• Collaborate with Project Engineers, site teams, and contractors.
  
• Provide technical survey data and clarifications as required.
  

I. Health & Safety

• Adhere to all HSE policies and site safety procedures.
  
• Ensure safe execution of all surveying activities.
  

Requirements

Qualifications & Experience

Education:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, or related field
  

Experience:

• 3–7 years of relevant experience in construction or engineering consultancy
  
• GCC/Qatar experience preferred
  

Technical Skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD
  
• Experience with survey software (Leica, Trimble, or equivalent)
  
• Strong knowledge of:
  • Surveying principles and calculations
    
  • Construction drawings and specifications
    
  • Coordinate systems and datums
