Responsibilities:

• Take responsibility for executing core accounting activities of the company, including maintaining a strong finance procedure, complying with local regulations and ensuring all proper accounting records are processed with accuracy, timelines and completeness.
• Maintain local banking relationships, including negotiating facilities agreements and ensuring that such activities are carried out within a planned time frame and in alignment with general financial plans, targets and interest.
• Monitor compliance with IFRS and IAS.
• Prepare the monthly statutory accounts and consolidated financial statements under IFRS.
• Coordinate the monthly closing process and reconcile general ledger accounts.
• Compile and analyze financial information to prepare entries to general ledger accounts, cost centers and documents business transactions.
• Distribute financial statements and cost‑center reports.
• Issue cost reports of outstanding projects for review and approval.
• Determine proper handling of financial transactions and approve transactions.
• Review and approve payment vouchers and journal entries.
• Maintain and monitor the purchases and payable system closely.
• Perform periodic cash‑flow forecasting.
• Analyze transactional processes and identify areas where additional accuracy and efficiencies can be achieved.
• Develop and maintain proper controls and effective accounting system and policies for the set‑up.
• Prepare work papers and supporting schedules for the annual financial review.
• Adhere to internal and external audit requirements and deadlines.
• Assist with annual budgets – prepare required financial allocations.
• Be responsible for knowing critical functions within the department and capable of mentoring and assisting employees within the department.
