Job Description

We invite you to join the world of luxury hospitality at Raffles & Fairmont Doha as our new In-Room Dining Order Taker.

The In-Room Dining Order Taker is responsible for providing efficient, courteous and personalized service to hotel guests by accurately handling in-room dining calls and processing food and beverage orders. The role involves assisting guests with menu selections, explaining menu items, recording special requests and dietary requirements, entering orders accurately into the POS system, and coordinating with the kitchen and service teams to ensure timely delivery. The position also requires handling guest inquiries and complaints professionally while maintaining high standards of service, communication and guest satisfaction. Candidates should have previous experience in hotel food and beverage, room service or a similar customer service role, along with good English communication skills, basic computer knowledge, attention to detail and the ability to work effectively under pressure and flexible shifts.

Key Responsibilities:

• Answer in-room dining calls promptly and courteously
• Take and accurately record guest food and beverage orders
• Confirm room numbers, order details and special requests
• Assist guests with menu selections and provide recommendations
• Explain menu items, ingredients and available options when required
• Enter orders accurately into the POS system
• Communicate dietary requirements and allergies to the kitchen team
• Coordinate with kitchen and service teams to ensure timely order delivery
• Follow up on orders to ensure guest satisfaction
• Handle guest inquiries, requests and complaints professionally
• Promote additional food and beverage items where appropriate
• Maintain accurate order records and guest preferences
• Follow hotel service, hygiene and safety standards
• Maintain a professional and friendly telephone manner

Qualifications

What will you bring to this role?

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Previous experience in in-room dining, room service, food and beverage or a similar hotel role
• Good knowledge of food and beverage products and service standards
• Excellent verbal and telephone communication skills
• Good English communication skills
• Basic computer and POS system knowledge
• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
• Excellent attention to detail and order accuracy
• Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment
• Professional appearance and positive attitude
• Ability to work flexible shifts, weekends and public holidays
• Additional language skills are an advantage
