Compliance Officer
We are seeking an experienced Compliance Officer with strong knowledge of Qatar’s regulatory environment and deep understanding of GCC business culture . The successful candidate will support the development, implementation, and monitoring of the company’s compliance framework, ensuring full adherence to local and regional laws, internal policies, and industry regulations.
The will be reporting to the Legal and Compliance Director and is based in Doha, Qatar.
Job Scope:
Responsible for implementing and maintaining the Compliance Management Systems (CMS) and for promoting a culture of integrity and protection of the organization’s reputation and overall stability. Assist in the development and implementation of Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) frameworks, ensuring alignment with governance and organizational strategic goals.
Roles & responsibilities:
Compliance Framework
- Implement and maintain the Compliance Management System to ensure adherence to laws, regulations, international standards, industry best practices, and internal policies.
- Help create and maintain internal controls that support compliance across the organization.
- Identify opportunities to improve the Compliance Management System and related processes as directed.
Whistleblower Case
- Manage the whistleblower process and investigate and respond to employee’s compliance matters and complaints, ensuring thorough and impartial handling of all cases.
- Prepare the findings from whistleblower compliance investigations and recommend actions.
Training and Awareness
- Develop and implement the Compliance Programs aimed at increasing awareness of compliance policies and procedures across the organization.
- Deliver and create compliance-related training sessions at different levels.
Monitoring and Auditing
- Assist in conducting internal audits of processes, practices, and documentation to identify areas of non-compliance and support in implanting corrective actions.
- Help assess business units activities to support the identification and mitigation of compliance risks.
- Facilitate and act as Focal Point for external compliance audits and ensure all necessary documentation is provided.
Record-keeping and Documentation
- Maintain accurate records of compliance activities, including audits, risk assessments, and training sessions.
- Ensure that all documentation is up-to-date and accessible for regulatory reviews or audits.
Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) Support
- Manage the implementation of the Group’s Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) framework under the direction of the Group Legal & Compliance Director.
- Lead the coordination of risk identification, assessment, and monitoring activities across the organization.
- Oversee the preparation and consolidation of the Risk Register, reports, and related documentation to support management and the Risk Management Committee.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Law, Business Administration, or a related field from a reputable university
Minimum Experience:
- 5-6 years of experience in compliance or a related field, with exposure to international practices preferred.
Job-Specific Skills (Generic / Technical):
- Familiarity with industry standards and professional practices.
- Knowledge of legal requirements and controls (e.g., Anti-Money Laundering).
- An understanding of Qatar and GCC culture and working environments is preferred.
